Ranked 71st in Golf Digest's latest America's 100 Greatest Golf Courses, Quaker Ridge Golf Club in Scarsdale, New York was designed by A.W. Tillinghast in 1918. Aptly dubbed "Tillie's Treasure", it is often overlooked. Three-time Masters champion Jimmy Demaret stated:
"Quaker Ridge is the most underrated golf course in the New York area, because it has never been host course to a major championship. I'd like to go on record as saying it would be a tough test of golf for any tournament – the U.S. Open and the PGA included."
