Founded by Australian legend Greg Norman in 1995, Medalist Golf Club has become a sanctuary for local touring professionals. Located in Hobe Sound, Florida just minutes from Jupiter, the Medalist touts such famed members as Rickie Fowler and Tiger Woods. Medalist was originally designed by Greg Norman and Pete Dye but underwent a significant facelift this past year under the watchful eye of Bobby Weed.
Weed's biggest changes were the addition of the "Tiger Tees", lowering the greens and adding sod-faced bunkering. "The Tiger Tees" make Medalist one of the toughest courses in America, stretching 7,571 yards with a slope of 155 and a course rating of 77.9. Weed's sod-faced bunkering actually uses astroturf to layer. This unique design cuts down on maintenance costs while still looking like the real thing!
The course is in absolutely perfect conditioning and plays incredibly firm and fast, making holding greens on downwind shots difficult. Medalist is an absolute treat and and invitation no golfer should turn down.
