Tiger turns 40
Happy 40th Birthday to Tiger Woods, one of the greatest to ever play the game. As Tiger enters what is most likely to be the last decade of his PGA Tour career, never has there been such a cloud of uncertainty as to what the future holds. To celebrate his birthday, the fried egg will be watching our favorite Tiger shot of all time, the 213 yard bunker shot over water while nursing a one=shot lead on the 72nd hole....
Anchor Ban loophole
On Friday, the long-anticipated anchor ban will officially go into place, ending the use of belly and long putters that anchor the club against a fixed body part. Still allowed on scene? Armlock styles that help the putter rest on a player's lead forearm through the stroke. This is deemed legal still since the arm is not considered a "fixed " body part, such as the chest.
Matt Kuchar has utilized this style since 2011 when he started using a Bettinardi armlock putter, and we haven't seen him go the traditional route since. It appears the armlock is becoming a new fad amongst tour players as Ollie Schneiderjans and Pat Perez have both added armlock putters to their bag.
It's never too early for gamesmanship
Europe winning 6 of the last 7 Ryder Cups has left the U.S. Team searching for answers. So much so, that they have started a "task force" to find solutions.
On the flip side, European team captain, Darren Clarke, is referring to his cup-holding team as the underdogs going into 2016's clash at Minnesota's Hazeltine National.
It will be interesting to see how the "task force" responds...
Working off that holiday heft part 2
Another beneficial exercise worth sweating for is a variation of the traditional plank. The cross-body plank works on your core strength while also activating lower body movement and flexibility - great for a golf swing.
